We have had quite the weekend. On Saturday I went to Sams Club to shop with my brother and dad, went to my parents house to help get ready for party on Sunday, planted a tomatoe plant from our ward for Mothers Day (it is a miracle it is still alive!!), laundry, dishes, brick around new garden. Nolan worked on the truck, hung my flowers on the porch, finished installing the screen door. Then we babysat until 3:45 am. We watch two kids, a girl in Lexa's preschool class and her younger brother. Their parents are both police officers and had to work late on Memorial Day weekend. I slept on the couch just in case the kids woke up and were confused at where they were, plus I didnt know when the parents would get there so I wanted to be close to the door. Didnt sleep great but babysitting sleeping kids is a pretty good job. I was very tired Sunday morning, but another busy day began. Oh ya, and my father-in-law got here Saturday night as well.
Sunday morning was the blessing of the Pippins baby, Spencer. Their church is at 9. Our is usually at 1 so it was an early morning for us and we had to be on time because the blessing is at the beginning of the meeting. We actually got there maybe 10 min early! Earlier than we even make it to 1 o'clock church. :) Then the Pippins had food at their house after sacrament meeting. We went home to change our clothes and headed to my parents house in Longmont for an open house for my brother Caleb. On June 5th he will graduate from Podiatry school in Chicago. We are leaving on Friday to head out for it, but he wanted to have a party in Longmont where most his friends and family lived. It was a really good party. At one point a little girl named Emily, who is only about 2 months older than Clara, was feeding Clara some chocolate pudding. It was very cute I am told. I need to find the pics! Later in the evening though Clara tripped and hit her forehead on the edge of the sliding glass door frame. It left a good mark on her head, but no broken skin, thank goodness. We got home late.
Monday was the annual ward pancake breakfast. It is my annual day to sleep in. Nolan has to explain this alot when people ask where I am! Clara did not get a nap on Saturday or Sunday and went to bed at 10 pm on Sunday so she also slept until about 10 am. Grandpa Wright, Nolan and Lexa went to the park and ate pancakes donated by McDonalds and rewarmed by the bishopric.
We planned on being in the mountains today but we were tired and it was rainy and cold today. Lexa and grandpa played at the park. Nolan worked more on the car. I did more laundry. We went to American Furniture Warehouse and ordered new kitchen chairs (VERY excited about that). They will get here on Wednesday. We ate dinner at our friend Carl and Emily's house. The girls had a good time in the rain, then dressing up and dancing around the house. Carl said that must be Lexa's influence. We were sure it was too! Nolan and his dad are now watching the Nuggets game. Whew! I am ready for the week.
